Anyone got an engine hoist/crane?

Post by neil » Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:57 am

Just about to hit the road north from Dudley with enough bits to make a Westfield in the back of a van and the engines looking a bit heavy for lifting out at the other end. Has anyone got an engine crane I could borrow?

Thanks Craig. 4 of us managed to lift it out of the van, but I dont think that'll work for putting it in the car so I'll maybe borrow it then. Cheers

i have a ball + chain crane that i hang from my garage rafters, you can borrow it if you need - it will lift 2 tonnes and it only weighs about 50 kg's

Thanks Clark. Only problem is the garage is part of a Stewart Milne house so I'm not sure the rafters would be up to it. Admittedly its not my house so we could always try it

Neil,

I have a mate with folding engine hoist, very compact and works well.

Give me a phone and I'll sort it out 07766666080

hahahahaha... no worries, possibly not the best idea to hang a crane, or a car.. from it then! i use a steel beam across the wall tops, tied to the rafter then hang the crane.
