my elise is going into MMC next friday to get some work done. it's a sick wee car and needs the following sorted out:

-passengers side window will not open, it's stuck in the shut position. handle doesn't turn anymore.

-there is a leak somewhere around the drivers side radiator hose, i've taken the hose off, put it back on, instant gasketed it and put an additional circlip on it but it still splashes the window with green water at speed.

-the idle speed has started to go again, sometimes on start up it's 500 rpm, other times it's 2000 rpm

-the car runs like a bag of spanners again, feels like the engine is skipping or fuel starvation, no instant power when accelerating, the engine management light is on and it ocassionally back fires (which is embarrassing!)

I was once told that main dealerships only have calculators that add up in £400 steps. So I think your poll only has one answer that applies!

The real question is how many do you want fixed and how many do you really think they will fix?

Witness Andy G's engine woes for further info....

MMC went through a phase where every single bill you heard of was either £750 or £1500. Guess their calculator was calibrated differently!

my guess is your radiators gone, because of HGF which has blown the end caps.l this will be circa 2300 to fix and will return with both windows now broken.

Please take it somewhere else (NOT FALKLAND PERFORMANCE CENTRE)

HGF?

if it's the radiator i'll not be getting MMC to fix it, i'll take it to the local garage to get it done.

May I suggest a small piece of wood for you to bite down on while loosening belt & holding table... :(

You will find out when you go to pick it up... if they offer you a coffee while you wait, expect the £1500 option.....
