Re: Remove undertrays/diffuser for MOT ?
Never had any problems with this: always leave them on.
Might be useful to hang about during the MoT and have the handbook open at the jacking points page.
It should just be lifted on a ramp I would've thought.

Mair throttle, less brake

I always have a chat with them first and ask if they know about jacking points...
Also leave the handbook open on the right page on the pax seat.
But always undertrays on

Leave them on, Croft have always been fine with me if I've left them on.
Re: Remove undertrays/diffuser for MOT ?
There is a section in the MOT notes for the car (that the tester gets) that the "customer must present with undertrays removed" but if the MOT station aren't nazis, you'll be fine. As others have said, never had an issue leaving them on.

Don't leave the car if they are not familiar with them. Supervise what they are doing. I had my front splitter damaged during the MOT a few years ago and I was driving! (one of the employees was guiding me onto the ramps -
"You're ok, you're ok." crunch.
"Oops. Hahaha."
Left quite angry, but it was in Shortlees (twinned with Beirut) so didn't make much of a fuss as I was literally surrounded by 4 guys when I tried to raise the issue of the damage.
I've also stopped Kwik Fit from removing all the wheels simultaneously when the car was jacked up on only 2 points.

Never had any issues either with undertrays. Jacking issues are well worth emphasising, as people have said.
As for leaving them unsupervised, hey, the guys are professionals....what could possibly go wrong?

Another good reason for leaving them on is that they can not see what is underneath them.
However they could fail you on something trivial if they can see it, as I once found out to my cost.

I think the chaps using croft though - who have done tons of Elises (inc mine, Woody's and Nizzy's)pete wrote:Don't leave the car if they are not familiar with them. Supervise what they are doing. A valuable point to make, nonetheless.

Re: Remove undertrays/diffuser for MOT ?
i took the exige to the old mill MOT station , north of Glasgow , as recommended by lasydonkey
i just turned up and parked. The lad said piss off for half an hour and come back...i did and came back...no probs..paid and buggered off.
i do recall thinking if they had not done anything to the car at all...cause it was in the exact same spot and nothing looked as if it had been moved
....the only thing that made me think that they had done the MOT was, the brake pedal felt a lot firmer......
Anyhow left under trays on

Re: Remove undertrays/diffuser for MOT ?
Mine passed today at second attempt, thanks to anew bearing, new discs and pads all round and Kirk from here doing the work for way less than the local place wanted. Picked it up and it's great - huge difference in brakes using the 1144 mintex pads and plain ebc discs. Mind you the brakes were awful before!
No undertray removed but they gave it a good checking over with 2 advisories the other place missed last week.
Smiles all round, even if the roads were getting icy on the way home.
