Squeaky Clutch

Post by Edin430 » Sat Jan 22, 2011 10:58 pm

Need help: S2 Exige n/a is the car in question.

When I press and release the clutch my car has developed the loudest squeak known to man! It's not coming from the clutch pedal - leaning out the car with the door open it sounds like it's coming from the back of the car rather than the front. Any ideas?

Cars going into MMC next week so will get them to fix whatever the problem is, just want to know if anyone knows what's up and how easy it is to fix?

Seized release bearing, possibly. Can't think of much else.

That'll be a nice expensive job at main dealer rates if the gearbox is coming off. :D

 Oh great. Was hoping it just needed greased up.

If it's that much work it wont be getting done at main dealer :P

If it is the release bearing the gearbox will have to come off which is 6-7 hours. Of course, it doesn't make sense not to do the rest of the clutch at the same time.
