I've just put my Elise through an MOT at the local garage and while it passed, I have an advisory that the nearside track rod end ball joint has slight play.
From the reading up I've done it's a simple enough job, but a good idea to have the geometry set afterwards. Can the local garage handle this or is there someone to be recommended in Tayside?
I'm booked on to my first track day at Knockhill on the 19th March, so would like to get this fixed beforehand.

The geo must be checked and reset - the removal of the TRE and refit of the new one will amost certainly not leave the new arrangement in exactly the same positions as the old one did, even if you try to measure carefully etc.
Can't comment on Tayside providers, however CLCM in Edinburgh know their way around these silly plastic cars although you may need to give Willie the specific settings you require...if you search around on this forum you might find details, perhaps posted by Robin, who understands these things well and is used to discussing them with Willie at CLCM! I just used what Robin said I should, and Willie set it all up just grand.

Falkland Performance Centre in Glenrothes will be able to assist. The tre is an easy diy job but you may need a balljoint splitter although I think I managed without one. I am sure the site TADTS has good instructions on how to do it.
