Am I the only one who ignores it for a bit when it comes on?

If it goes off again - meh
But it would be a good idea to get an obd II reader on to it.

Don't have one might be able to get one at the weekend though. a friendly garage might put it on for free.

It's gone out now. Woohoo.
Yeah a garage might lend me one, but it's a gadget. And I don't have one...

Cheap and cheerful ones to be had on ebay, but make sure you get one that actually reads out codes rather than just clearing the faults.
My car throws the odd MIL too - must have happened 2-3 times since I've owned (and modified) it.
Cheers,
Robin

Was it particularly cold when this happened? I had it throw it up when it was frosty a few times last winter, but the car ran fine, and then it would clear after a couple of restarts. ITHINK the mil comes on if it detects a misfire, so i always put it down to a possible cold start misfire, that clears immediately. Hasnt done it for months, as i had barely used it this winter.
Any problems pete, you know just to give me a call

No worries. It went out after I turned it on and off a few times, old one used to do it too.
(Neil, Car's great. Well it seems to get rattlier by the day, my colleagues all gave me a slagging for having to erect a tent over the roof in case it rained but I took the long way home today for the first time in ages and the going round corners ability is sublime...)
