The content of your post was a real let down after the title.

Nitron would be the best place to start.

www.eliseparts.com :thumbsup

Depending on how urgent your needs are, I might have some spare dampers in the garage.

Depends what your using it for. Full set of Nitron Street Series is about £700-£800. If it is road use -that will be all you need.
You could also go for S2 bilsteins but I know nothing about spec/ £ though.
Sure someone will be along soon wuith required knowledge.

Just had them installed yesterday on my S1. Went for the Nitron Street Series, and BIG difference already and I've only driven the 30 miles home

If you use the car only on road (and even occasional track days) the S2 Bilstein kit is fine. Around £600-£700, Lotus can supply direct and Steve Butts may still be providing also (see SELOC for this as I don't think he has a web presence, it's a bit of a sideline for him).

But by all means move up the food chain with the Nitron range. Lots of options and lots of ways to spend many £££££££.

If you reall want to do the Nitron thing, I'm told the Hoffmans setup is the way to go. Others on here who have done this will tell you more, as I only have lowly Bilsteins.

Unless you are on a racetrack or billiard table highway (how many of them do we have left) then I think it's money wasted.

Campbell, Nitron Street Series are roughly the same price as the Bilsteins units when I priced them up 3 weeks ago. No adapter kits involved either for the S1, straight swap.

That's good VFM then - on the face of it at least.

Who supplied them for you?

How did you choose the adjuster setting, out of interest?

Ali fitted them for me yesterday and Mark found a few people recommended 22 Front / 18 Rear at a ride height of 115F / 125R over on *eloc. I can easily adjust if required, our own AndyG managed to point me in the right direction

Cool.

Point to note, worth running the adjusters up and down every couple of months or so, just to ensure they don't seize. I neglected to do this on my old Spax and they quickly became non-adjustable again! Paul G recommended a drop of 3 in 1 oil into the base of the adjusters from time to time as well.

I asked about "adjuster" settings because, in essence, there is only one setting that will correctly match the damper and spring in my experience. My Spax had to be turned up pretty hard to stop the car bouncing on the spring.

Get some reviews written up once you've been able to get the car over some familiar surfaces :-)

There are 2 types of s2 bilstien upgrade, the older / more common s2 K-series bilstiens (which is what i'm running), but also the 111r toyota s2 using this kit:
http://www.eliseparts.com/products/show ... er-mounts/

I presume you could also fit the s2 exige bilstiens with that kit (also toyota engined, and slightly harder than the 111r units)
Cheap fronts here:

if you can source some cheap rears ;)

I think the main benefit with the K Series Elise Bilstiens was that there was a long running group buy via SELOC offering them for a decent price. It seems now they are almost on a par with the nitron street series cost wise though...

Interesting, on the 111r mount solution.

Yeah, I'm been tempted to steal the S2 Exige bilstiens off Erica's VX
