Plenty using them John.
Good road tyre, fine on track especially in the wet, usual proviso, the more powerful the car and driven hard, they will go off on track much sooner than an R tyre.

Ok, more of a replacement for the T1r's than an alternative for 888's then.tut wrote:Plenty using them John.

I have them.
They're a good jump up from T1-Rs, a lot stickier, probably they're as soft in terms of 'sticking your fingernail in' as my Medium compound AO48s.
So far, really, really impressed with them but then my car doesn't have much power.....
I wouldn't bother with R888s/AO48s now unless I was tracking very, very regularly.

So had mine on for the last 500 odd miles now. I think they are brilliant. Grip in the dry is excellent, stiffer side walls over the bridgestones does reduce the ride comfort but not by much.
On the limit grip is good too, they don't just snap away but but break away progressively enough that you have plenty of time to catch it. Also the understeer has all gone, but I put this down to having 205s on the front now up from the original 175s.
I've had T1Rs in the past and really liked them but the R1Rs are far superior in everyday except probably When encountering standing water.
