VHPD MAX REV RANGE (190 bhp)

Post by Gareth » Sun May 01, 2011 6:59 pm

Just been playing with the 340R's tach.
I can set the (4) shift lights for the rev range on full throttle.
So what should each light be set to (rpm)? I guess the final light is the most important. I was thinking 7750rpm? Too little/too much?

9200....oooft!
8600 seems mighty high too but you've got weight on your side.

Obviously the Engine in the Caterahm has a bottom end built for the higher revs, Steel Crank, Forged pistons with fancy rods etc ...

7750 sounds spot on, for a standard VHPD.

How often do you want to rebuild the engine?

Ah...forgot...you won't have it long enough to worry about that, eh! Nor did the last two owners, before you say anything ;-)
