Just been playing with the 340R's tach.
I can set the (4) shift lights for the rev range on full throttle.
So what should each light be set to (rpm)? I guess the final light is the most important. I was thinking 7750rpm? Too little/too much?

8600 seems mighty high too but you've got weight on your side.
Re: VHPD MAX REV RANGE (190 bhp)
Yeah, 7800 is about as far as you wanna go Gareth.

Obviously the Engine in the Caterahm has a bottom end built for the higher revs, Steel Crank, Forged pistons with fancy rods etc ...Gareth wrote:9200....oooft!Gourlay83 wrote:Well, the Caterham has just been lowered from 9200 to 8600 rpm..........Gareth wrote:Just been playing with the 340R's tach.

7750 sounds spot on, for a standard VHPD.

How often do you want to rebuild the engine?Gareth wrote: So what should each light be set to (rpm)? I guess the final light is the most important. I was thinking 7750rpm? Too little/too much?

Ah...forgot...you won't have it long enough to worry about that, eh! Nor did the last two owners, before you say anything
