Bootbag Lid Cover

Guys

After almost 3 years of holding up my bootlid with my head, and getting the gunk from the spring on various items of clothing, I have now begun the hunt for a boot cover. I have the older style clam on my S1 and all that is left is the remnants of a broken hinge on the aluminium divider. Does any one have any ideas where i might be able to pick one up? B&C still list the 'piano' style hinge for it but not the lid itself. Its item 6 on the parts diagram below!

Cheers :thumbsup

Or you could install a stay/prop like the later cars have.

Which would give you better access to the engine bay.

A pole from a Halfords 2 tonne trolley jack makes a good interim solution too! A bit of wood dowel would do the trick too.

I already have a highly sophisticated stick for accessing the engine! Tis even painted silver to match the car (not my doing)! :D

Reason for the cover is more for moving stuff in and out the boot. I had looked at fabricating a prop of sorts but im not great at the whole fabrication thing!

Tut you have PM :thumbsup

I think I can beat you all here. I have an adjustable boot lid support. It's thin so I get good engine access and light weight, in keeping with the Lotus ethos. It's recycled (well reused) so is environmentally friendly too!

It's an extendible pole from an old hoover..
