S1 exhaust question

Post by TSF » Mon Aug 14, 2006 12:27 pm

Hi Lads,

Just had a look at the exhaust fitted to my S1 1998  . To my suprise the rear box is stamped with a Janspeed mark, can anyone tell me if this was standard fitment or an extra :? I think it is a mild steel unit by the looks of things

Thanks
Eddie.

IIRC Janspeeds were fitted as sports exhausts to several cars (Factory option?) The only way to tell should be to stick a magnet to it. if it sticks it's mild steel (Nasty cheap rusty stuff) if it doesn't then it's Stainless. This will only work if it's a decent grade of stainless though. (Fat chance)

Old stainless looks like young mild steel. IIRC stainless Janspeeds have a lifetime warranty...
