Hi Lads,
Just had a look at the exhaust fitted to my S1 1998

. To my suprise the rear box is stamped with a Janspeed mark, can anyone tell me if this was standard fitment or an extra

I think it is a mild steel unit by the looks of things

IIRC Janspeeds were fitted as sports exhausts to several cars (Factory option?) The only way to tell should be to stick a magnet to it. if it sticks it's mild steel (Nasty cheap rusty stuff) if it doesn't then it's Stainless. This will only work if it's a decent grade of stainless though. (Fat chance)
Old stainless looks like young mild steel. IIRC stainless Janspeeds have a lifetime warranty...
