Jacking Points?? YeS i AM dAFT

Post by mikeyb13 » Tue Sep 20, 2011 4:24 pm

Looking to jack the car up for the 1st time. Read the manual and it says the same as the Exige. Big blue sticker in the middle to jack up one side of the car. However these stickers are long gone and I'd rather ask a daft question than damage the car.

Is this what was the sticker?

Not daft at all. Daft would be to have a guess at it and have a jack going through your sill / floor....

Yes you are in the right place.

Basically at the joint of the x-member and longways chassis rail, give or take. An X from a perm marker might be more robust for the future :-)

I seem to remember you can buy the stickers from Bell and Colville if you wanted to replace them

Did you get some Norfolk Mustard tape made up specially? :blackeye

Mine doesn't have the stickers, but does have the remainder of the residue in place. The single central jacking point is great for wheel changes :)

That was a BMW  ....and was in a hurry as Ed was waiting to get on track, after DDtB had clobbered a rock and blown the tyre.

Do you have any photos? That was funny. How did we remove the jack anyway?

Did we take it out? I thought we just left it there as it was so well jammed in.... most securely fitted part on the car, and it was only Ed's run  :damnfunny

I think brute force and ignorance won in the end..... which strangely enough is what got us into the situation
