*URGENT* Tom needs your help

Post by Shug » Wed Aug 16, 2006 6:33 pm

Just had a call from Tom - he's has had his exhaust hangers fail on his Walshy day. He can fix the hangar bits, but what he really needs is a standard S1 downpipe (the bit with the flexi section in it) and somebody to fit it before SIDC on Saturday...

Anybody help out?

UPDATE - Tom now has the exhaust part!

As luck would have it Stephen was round just as Shug posted - I mentioned it to Stephen and he had a spare.

It's just fitting that an issue as it's Forrestburn n C&D on the next two nights.

I have one spare too should anyone need it.... If he can get round here in the morning on Friday I'll fit it. Has it been changed recently? Or let me guess, it's the original....

He very kindly woke me up half an hour ago...

He is going to try every rover dealer from Essex to here to get a new zorst hanger rubers and some new gaskets and I'll have a crack at fitting it tomorrow.

I dunno what state it will be in but aparently it was used in dry weather and garaged by the previous owners... we'll see...

I'm going to work slowly and take off each bolt in turn and then replace it so if we do shear one off the seal will be undisturbed and the other 3 will get him home at least. He is praying to lady luck as we speak.

Phuck - sorry mate :(

Hope it's relatively easy - get him to soak them in WD40 overnight?

He is staying StA's tonight, if I finish at a sensible time I'll get him to drop it off here and then it can sit overnight in a bath of the stuff....

Cheers Shug and everyone. Apologies for disturbing your slumber Rich. Decided to take the hit and miss the track day. Figured it wasn't sensible to rush a car onto the track that's not working properly. Oh well....
