Spark plugs

Post by campbell » Thu Aug 17, 2006 12:43 am

UJI is due a "B" service (actually, overdue by about 6 weeks), and the main extra item over and above the "A" service oil-change is to replace Spark Plugs.

Anyone care to recommend a particular type or brand?

Also keen to know where I can easily source them in the Edinburgh area - other than obvious mainstream places like Halfords.

thanks

Pentland Components round the corner from MMC (not as far up the hill as CLCM) - just ask for MG Rover parts instead. BTW, one of the old Lotus parts guys works there too!

Of course Brown Brothers/Dingbro will sell them too, as will just about any other motor factors. Try

NGK PFR6N-11

You can get them from any good motor factors.

Got em, fitted em (not without a little help from Obi Wan Hoy, lead for plug number 2 was well seized) and have the old ones for coffee table ornaments now ;-)

Another new item added to my small armoury of Elise maintenance experiences :-)

Thanks Lawrence, John, Richard and other general helpers at Spanners today. Sore fingers and a list of jobs not yet ticked off, but well worth it none the less !
