My alternator belt just shredded itself on the way to the meet at powmill today, My car has AC and the service manual shows only the non AC installation. Can anybody tell me how to replace the belt and adjust tension on the AC model?

Sorry cannot help. However you might find the AC pump is common with some of the Rover cars, e.g. a Rover 75, so scout about for a Rover 75 service manual and it might have the answer.
Cheers,

Loosen the nut in the middle of the tensioner pulley (13mm) then wind the tensioner bolt (also 13mm)'from below (underneath the pulley) to slacken the belt. Slide the belt off, replace and tension in the opposite of the above.
The belt you need is a 5PK1205

Thanks for the info, that was exactly what I needed to know. I suspected the tensioner needed to be loosened, but there is no mention of it's existence in the service notes.
Thanks Again
