Buffer pads got rid of the brake pad rattle and now I've got a loud squeak which has replaced it
99% sure its coming from the front ( front left I think) and it changes with wheels rotating/speed rather than with engine RPM.
So far I'm fixing it by either turning up the stereo or adding in ear plugs, neither of which are probably in the haynes manual.
Bearing? wouldnt that be more of a rumble?
Pads sticking? car runs true and goes/stops as normal
I had a quick search but most squeak issues came from the hard top or the engine bay so not sure what this is.

Squeaksqueaksqueak as the wheel rotates. Its not brake squeal, it does have that sometimes but i find it soothing. The squeaksqueaksqueak is something I'm more annoyed about

Hmmm - hamster in the spokes?
Would be looking at brake pads rubbing, disk water shield, anything rotational. Unlikely to be bearings as they more rumble than squeak, similarly anything driveshaft related, unless something is rubbing on the shaft (matron). Elaine's brake pads give off a rotational squeak in reverse, weirdly.
Cheap first option is whip out the pads, hose everything with brake cleaner and brush out (push the pistons back as well, but remember to pump the pedal back up before going out for a drive). Coat the edges and backs of the pads in copperslip before re-assembly to see if that does anything - brake dust might be making them bind a bit.

after market pads tend to be a little smaller than OE pads and you get this annoying rattle and squeal

....my CL05+ pads squeaked at the front , until i bought some backings....however, now the rears are rattling, occasionally

......so, i would get some backings for the rears or the new gel that around and try that, in conjunction with what shug advised and bed in as rich h suggested .....should help

Cheers, its not a squeak when I brake and braking doesnt change the squeak, definitely a rotational thing but I'll try warming them up and bedding in again using the mintex guide. If the tough love doesnt cure it then I'll try and have a proper wheel off look next weekend, I fitted the pad backings a month or two ago so perhaps one of them has came loose and is rubbing. It's been used every 4/5 days lately and had the cover on it so strange time to develop it.

Try a little left foot braking in a straight line, if you've not long replaced the pads.
Keep the car going with the brakes on a bit and they'll soon scrub in/level out. See if that helps.
