OK - so figure this out (apologies for the rambling) :
I got a new 17" wheel today (the old once had slight rim damage), so got this changed at Belmont Lang Stracht - nice job (someone had a set of 16" Yoko's waiting there - anyone ?)
Came back - washed car and checked tyre pressures with little Michelin compressor powered off the cigarette socket (the new tyre was out !!!)
The new wheel is of s slightly modified design - go figure ?
Now my C/L is not locking the doors (immob is on), despite the fact that the CL button in front of the gearlever does ????
WTF is going on ?
Can I lock the doors from the outside ?
Grrrr

Erm, no, that would be the electric windows
Central locking is bound to be slightly heavier but then you'll never notice it with all the other extra weight in the 111R.
As for the wheels, the Elise S doesn't have the same wheels as the R so they must be a new version for that. What's different?

Doh !
The hub of the new wheel appears to be thicker - the bolts are no longer flush with the centre 'face' of the wheel.
???

Odd then. Maybe manufacturing error? Or is the other one wrong!?
They should be exactly the same....

Yes it should be the same as the old one. Sounds like you might have a 111S wheel by mistake, I'll go and check mine now and see what's stamped on them.

Mine are stamped ET18 so your offset sounds right but if the bolts are no longer flush then it's definitely not right. I'd ask for another one if I were you.

Was it just one location that the remote CL didn't work? The keyfobs can be jammed by things like Police radio transmitters - there's a classic blackspot in Glasgow near Stewart St Police station.....

What about the wheel? Have you asked for another? I wouldn't be driving it with the wrong one personally.

I'm happy with the fact that its ET38, I've got the original away for refurb and I'll make some enquiries.
Think its one of those supplier mods / MY update. Will post a piccy tomorrow.
