Hi Chaps

Forgivemy ignorance with this question.

I've currently got t1r's (185) on the front standard wheels (not my Exgie ones) and wondered if I could get away with a 195, so i could put Toyo R888's on my standard wheels.

Fed-up for t1r's as they are dreadful on track, admitedly I've been very spoilt with the A048's, but the t1r's fell to peices at Cadwell yesterday, and started going off within 2-3 laps, much to our amusement. (they are roasted!)

Thoughts?

You'd maybe be better going the route of Yoko AD07s for the road wheels. The R888 is pretty much Toyo's version of the A048 and is slightly better in the wet - but not really an all-weather tyre. Not really having a set of 48s and 888s. Two takes on the same thing...

AD07 is the current standard fit and pretty good from what I hear. Not cheap though and probably dealer only.

Was thinking of doing a direct comparison between them? (A048's and r888's)

Would they be too wide for the fronts though?

Ali used 195 fronts once, but I think the sidewall overhang is just a bit too much... Wouldn't be a fair comparison, as the sidewalls on the 888s would roll more on a narrower rim.

What do you think Ali?
