Hi all

Anyone got some advice for fixing a wing mirror? Some wee ned decided to rip mine off leaving the assembly in two parts on the floor and one of the black plastic prongs still stuck in the door. Do you guy reckon a couple of dabs of epoxy will hold it fast enough or am I looking at a new wing mirror?

Someone snapped mine off a month or so ago. I ordered a second hand metro mirror from eBay and swapped the broken part over. I think it was about £10 and the cost of the torx allen keys to unscrew the broken prong.

Split the mirror in to two parts, disconnect the long spring and swap the broken parts over, the new part did need the prongs cut to the correct length and the adjuster cut off but that only took five mins. I then used a bit of string round the end of the spring so I could stretch it back into place.

You're much better off getting a new mirror and transferring the body coloured casing. They are fairly cheap (just a Metro mirror) and it's much less likely to fall off a month down the line loosing your body coloured section in the process.

Yes that is what I did, just swap the snapped parts and keep the coloured back of your mirror so you didn't need to have anything painted.
