Might not be the same issue, but I suspect it is. I believe that in the fuse box there is a link that's designed to allow the ECU to measure the current that the rest of your electrical system is using. It looks like a relay with a metal link running through a hole in it.
When people do the honda conversions I don't know whether they carry this feature forward, or whether somehow or other it is disabled?
Sorry not to be more helpful - I don't know enough about the honda conversions to be more specific.
