New flexi

Post by jimbo » Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:59 am

Would ptp be the cheapest place to get a new exhaust flexi? Mine has given up the ghost finally

Is it actually that part you need? That's not the standard flexi part. If you have the piper or janspeed 4:2:1 downpipe (standard only on sport 160 and VHPD engine'd cars) then you need this bit. If you have a standard downpipe (all other cars) then you need this part for S2:

And this part for S1:

I also don't think these are the cheapest prices for parts of that pattern - I seem to remember buying an MGF one for 99 quid, though it needed a bit of effort to make the rear hanger line up.

Yeah I have the Janspeed 4:2:1 off a 340R - another of Marks tasty pieces that found its way onto the 111s :)

So is that likely to be about the cheapest I'll find it?

It's probably the only place you'll get one if it's the janspeed part :-)

If it's just the flex, you can buy another flex section and have it welded in. Depends if you know any good welders or not.

That's a good price! Is that just the flexi section itself, or the pipe from the manifold to flexi, the flexi and the next bit of pipe?

It is a good price indeed! I remember paying near £300 for that part early last year,.. which is now beginning to have the flexi section come apart again :(
