Hi guys,
Got an issue with the headlight bracket on my S1. I fitted a new one a few years back and the beam pattern has never been quite right. I don't seem to have the right range of adjustment which would suggest the bracket itself is not right. When I fitted the bracket I made every effort to make it straight and symmetrically lined up.
Has anyone got a picture that shows what position the bracket should be? Also has anyone got any words of experience from fitting and aligning headlights on their Elise?
Going to get in about it and see what I can do to fix it tomorrow. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Make sure you clean out all the old crap. Also once you've put the new bracket in with the sikaflex or whatever you're using use three strips of masking tape to make sure the bracket doesn't sag while the sealant cures.
I think that provided you get the bracket close to parallel to the clam then you should have enough adjustment to get the beam straight. Obviously you need to get it such that up is up .. I just slapped the one in on my old S1 and it was fine .. but then I never cared much about beam patterns
Cheers,
Robin

I did the bracket two years ago. On inspection the top left and right tabs on the bracket could do with a bit more adhesive but they're functional.
Think I got to the bottom of the issue. The headlamp had not been fitted into its carrier in the right orientation. I took it out and rotated more in the correct direction and the beam pattern is now pretty much identical on both sides

which is nice.
There is a rather large crack in the headlight and it was suggested that this was effecting the beam pattern but I'm confident it's not part of the issue. The light will need replaced eventually, but I'm in MOT passing mode, and would rather not replace parts for the sake of it...
We'll find out at the retest anyway...
