Scottish Elises

So given the difficulty im having (as are other people it seems) in getting hold of Ali (SLS), does any fellow SE member from Aberdeen fancy doing some work on my S1? For cash in hand?

Need a new exhaust flexi fitted, and possibly front ball joints. Sometime within the next month or so.

Any takers??

If you were expecting Ali to work on the car at his base (Central Scotland?) then you shouldn't rule out Murray Lotus either.

I presume you have seen the "Big Thanks" thread. Too good to be true? Not really. Unlikely to last? I once thought that, but they have convinced me otherwise. Feels a bit one-sided? Well frankly in the absence of credible (local) competition, Murray are going to continue to attract business...and get repeat business if they maintain the standards and value for money displayed in the last 2-3 years or so.

I have spent a fair bit with them this year - a lot more than I envisaged spending on my Elise, quite frankly - however it has delivered a significant number of fixes or improvements, has been a revelation and has transformed the car.

I can't take a money-no-object approach to my Elise, however the value of an experienced Lotus dealer going over the car can't easily be described...especially for ageing S1s. I'd say this is not to be underestimated.

You may well be very pleasantly surprised at the cost for Murrays work too. They are very competitive, and provide a great service

I'd happily help you do it, even with my level of experience it's not a hard job, but I dont have a garrage these days and I'm up north.

Try JD Motor Engineers in Insch. A little more local than Murrays and prices are good.
