Spinning rivnut

I probably already know the answer to this, I just don't like it! I had to grind the head off a bolt as the rivnut was spinning. It's in the void where my now knackered heater sits so no access for a drill. The only thing I can think of is to grind the flange off and knock it through. Only snag there is that it will rattle around inside the chassis for ever more!

Any better ideas?

If you have to do that then once it drops in then follow it with a blob of silcone to try and glue it down stop it rattling.

I have slipped a screwdriver down the front between the bulkhead and the lip round the front and hammered them out in the past.

I did think of injecting some undersell or something in after it to stop it rattling but I'm assuming that when I hammer it through it will ping about and could land anywhere

I like the idea of pulling it out but theres a bit of a screw stuck in the middle!

I can see me leaving it and finding another way to secure the heater.

Can you tie a bit of thread to the stump then drive it into the rail so you can find it again?

I don't think it will fall into the chassis per se as there is no access to the chassis rails here I think. There is a void where the steering rack goes, so it might end up there, but would be retrievable, especially if the body of the rivnut or the screw in it was sufficiently magnetic?
