Mine soemtimes seems to stick at 1.5k rpm, a quick rev up settles it down again. I'm wondering if it ay be the ECU getting confused about the airflow. The MAP sensor may be out of limits dealing with the enhanced flow, but I'm only guessing.

Is the throttle actually physically closing properly? If so it could be that the IACV is fecked or just gunged up. It's easy to clean out. If not then there is your problem...

Did you clean out the IACV? If the throttle is closed then it is this what dictates idle. Mine was extremely gunged up as was the pipework. Dirty IACV plug? The breather pipes are all connected and there are no holes in the inlet manifold?

Could it even be a dodgy lambda sensor? IIRC this controls the fuelling at idle to protect the cat, now I'm really guessing...

Off to bed now, good luck!

Where did the throttle come from? was it from a car thats been a non runner for a while... will free up over the next few weeks.

John bought it from TSF on here. Not sure how long its been of the other car for just know it came of a 2l rover. Only thing is if i thrash the car 7 rpm it will stick there.

just add some light oil (not WD40) to the pivots and work it a bit. It should free up ok. Mine was like that for a few days but it works fine now...

I stuck with the alloy arm for the throttle and lengthened the pedal travel by adjusting the pedal stop. Dont know if your using the plastic arm from the 48mm or the alloy one. Dont know if that makes a difference or not.

it was a plastic one that was on it. Only thing is the tb is closed fully and its still at 3 rpm is that right?

It may look closed you dont need much of a gap to get those revs...

try removing the IACV pipe or whatever its called then stick your hand over the throttle holes to see what it idles at... if the speed drops the throttle isnt closing fully.
