Scottish Elises

Hello ,

Picking the car up from Murrays tomorrow as its been in for a load of work, including new pads and discs, the pads are CL5's.

I don't really keep cars long enough to go through brakes so haven't had to bed any in for a while. Do modern pads still need this doing? If so what's the best method (bearing in mind it'll be straight back to Newcastle for me from the Murrays).

I have never bothered too much but at one time there was 'a procedure' kicking about from Lotus. I think the gist of it was normal/ hard use for a short while to get some heat in them and then some rough love with 2 or 3 heavy stops from 70-0 - the main thing is not to baby them or they will glaze. Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows the correct procedure and can confirm if it is really necessary.

The CLs don't need bedding in. Just go easy on them for the first couple of miles, then give then a good thrash down the A68

Brake hard a few times when safe to do so, and hard like your trying to avoid an accident , not arriving at a red light. 5-6 times from a decent legal speed.
