Been searching around a bit and wondered if theres some positive feedback for the AD08 v R1R on the road? I've been told Toyo and Yoko dont have stock atom so which tyre has the most votes if I've to order? Wifes got to drive the car on the odd occasion

RO55, I still have your ball joint tool..

I have used both and they are very similar.

R1R probably has the edge on track so could come down to price. Both will go off on a powerful Elise/Exige on a dry track if you are staying out for more than 20 mins, no probs in the wet, but I always used 48R's or 888's when I went over the Channel for FF etc, although the new Avons may now replace all four from reading reports.

Not got experience of either but AD08 is to be superseded by a AD08R, first uk supplies expected end of this month supposedly.
Says same wear rating and tread pattern but a better tyre according to web.

AD08's have a full tread depth where as R1R's are about 5 mm when new from what I remember. I've run the AD08's for a while with no issues although the sidewalls are quite stiff.

R1R's are an average of 6.5mm tread depth, varies slightly according to size.

Well I went ahead with the new version, 08r, they seem worlds apart from the Oem bridgestones in the finger nail test but I won't be able to test them out yet as the cars not finished. Thx for all the inputs, I haven't any info as yet on the Avons, but I'll read up.
My Audi conversion is coming along and I'm busy doing the wiring etc. I've yet to build and exhaust so it's prolly gonna be September/October to be real, too late to use the tyres to effect. Anyone know where to go central for a geo setup? Also gather the spring rates itch vag motor are around 5olb heavier than stock k series...? I'd thought 400 front and 525 rears gaz gold pros, Any thoughts? :cheers
