Have never got round to asking: when I turn the engine off, the handbrake and oil lights stay on for a couple of seconds before going off, is this normal?
Also, the seatbelt warning light doesn't come on when driving without the belt on (in car parks for example). Normal?

Re: Is this normal?
Seat belt warning light is normal, its a light with a delay rather than having any connection to the seatbelt and wearing thereof.
Think the delay in lights going out is normal too.

Re: Is this normal?
If it's an S1 there is a mechanical switch for the seatbelt warning light, but the cables can become severed so that it doesn't actually work.
The delay in oil and handbrake lights going out is due to something backfeeding the ignition. Provided they go out, I wouldn't worry about it I think.
Cheers,
Robin
