interior door release handles

My son Martyn just bought a cracking wee S2. I think it's fantastic - we both flew down from Edinburgh to Basingstoke to buy it and drove home.

I have a Porsche 911 (996) C4 which I think is just great but I must say I am really struck by the Elise - I could quite fancy one!! It's the only non-Porsche car I have really fancied.

Anyway - I realise that Lotus use a few different manufacturers' parts - I recognise these interior door release handles (the chrome "L" shaped ones) from somewhere. Can anyone put me out my misery and tell me what are they from?

Thanks

Graham

It's a 2004 Rover engined 111S.

Rover 200/400 series (plus loads others, like metro, I'll bet)

Minimal anorak content, Shug!

I would have expected _at least_ a complete model history, some photos, all collated in a printable report.

Some anecdotes of "it nearly got used in the Porsche 906 GT race car" would be a bonus.

Cheers,
Robin

I owned a Rover 200 of that vintage. The less I think about it, the happier I am...

I had two. The second one had been used as my pal's works car (he's a sparky) and it looked, well like a works van. 100 quid, lasted a year and a half, gearbox failed in the end at 230k.

(Back when my primary mode of transport was the CBR - or the Elise if we were going somewhere together. Ah the pre kids days).

I had a 400 before the 200, it got smeared down a verge on the Stewarton - Mearns road many moons ago... The 200 was a shed to use to keep miles off the Elise at the time. Hateful car.

I had a 416GSi followed by a 214 SEi.

I actually liked them, the 214 handled great and the door handles worked a treat :)

I'll clarify - the first one I had was a 414SLi and it was a good motor. Took the brunt of my early 20s driving style without dying too many times - set the brakes on fire, wrecked gearbox linkages, generally drove it like it was a touring car. Mostly 4 or 5 lads in it at the time. Definitely a cut above the alternative Escort or Astra in it's time. Only punted it on when I smacked it off a verge and it was a little less pristine...

The 214 I had was a total shed - engine was so f*cked that I had to change down on the M77 rise coming out of Glasgow before the Mearns turn off... Faded paint, leaking, smelt a bit odd. That was a bad car because it was a shed, but I'm sure a pristine one would have been as good as my 414.

I did have a 216 way way back - from new as a company car so maybe that's where I remembered it from. It was Ok - but then again it was brand new
