Clutch pack and CRB for Caterham

Post by ClarkyBoy » Tue Oct 22, 2013 2:15 pm

Hi all,

I am working on a 1700 X-flow Caterham right now with a knackered clutch, it is mated to a type 9 gearbox, with Quaife internals etc.

I am looking to get a slightly upgraded clutch pack and clutch release bearing, any suggestions as to where to get the bits from?

I just want to make sure I get the right thing 1st time round!

cheers !

There are a lot of variables to give a definite answer but these people might be able to help, particularly with competition clutches.

I'm not too clued up on the X Flow variants to be honest Clarky, but would imagine the release bearing is the same (crappy) plastic one that's in my R500. Melted one in the Frog, and replacing the one in the R500 as we speak.

You can upgrade to a hydraulic job that mounts to the 4 bolt pattern around the main shaft. You would need to fit a master cylinder as well of course. The cost adds up though...

Personally i'd replace the bearing and buy an AP Clutch kit, job done.
