drop rear suspension struts

Hi all,

Im in the middle of wire brushing my rear wishbones before rust treating and painting as part of the winter refurb plan Im undertaking.

Quick question - if I just unbolt the bilstein struts at the top bolt to drop the suspension and allow easier access, is it just a case of lifting back up and bolting back together when Im finished? Or is the whole thing difficult to put back in place alone?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

You may find it doesn't drop as far as you would like because the bushes in the wishbone pivots are "springy" and will try to return the wishbone to the horizontal.

If you decide to loosen the pivot bolts to allow the wishbones to move further you must be sure to tighten them back up in the "normal ride height" position.

Cheers,
Robin

Good advice Robin, thanks mate!

Will drop the top mounts and see what the gain is and take it from there!
