AD08R's for the Evora

I'm thinking of fitting a more track day suited tyre for the Spaz trip.
I've no experience of these but I see they're pretty highly rated by others on here.
Any info on rate of wear? Would they last to Spa and back with three days on track? What are they like if it rains?

Cheers

Kenny

Kenny,

Worth having a chat with Kayfur ( Kevin). Pretty sure that's what he had on his Exige for last years Frolic. And they seemed to last the duration through very dry and wet conditions.

Cheers

Agree, good in the wet.....perhaps not as good as a road tyre, but still good.
Last very well, i thought the 211 would eat them, but no. Last better than the 048.

Are you sure that they were R's and not the standard AD08's?

If they did them in 20s I'd have given them a try but they don't so I'll be sticking to a new set of Corsa tyres for the 5000 miles or so they last.

Apologies if this is a double post - attempted to reply on my phone but app crashed due to a dodgy internet connection.

Tut is correct - they were standard AD08s which I believe have been superceded by the AD08R.

As Kinger says, They did perform well on track and lasted much longer than the AO48s that I have previously used.

Not sure how the R version will compare - I think it uses a compound similar to the 48 but starts off with significantly more tread. Might be worth asking Ronnie at Wheelsaround.

I will probably get a set of AD08Rs for this year's Frolic. Don't know of they do Evora sizes(?)

Thanks for the info.
It's a 1500 mile round trip for me with three days on track.
Think I'll give the AD08R's a go, hopefully they'll last the distance without a problem.

What size wheels have you got? If it's 18s then ZZRs are worth a look - http://www.avonmotorsport.com/resource- ... s-on-track

I've already been down that route.
I've got 19's on the rear, 18's on the front. Lotus sell Motorsport wheels for the Evora which are 18's all round but they're not approved for road use.
So the extra cost along with the fact that there's a good chance I'll be selling the car come July has meant I'm sticking to what I've got.

Cheers
