S1 revival after a year and tyres

HI,
After spending most of last year travelling (in a digging ditches overseas/touring way not in a posh student lucky f**ker way) I'm putting the elise back on the road in early April.
It's going to need C service inc belt change ( joy), tax, mot, insurance, a new fan at some point soon and 4 new tyres - they were past their best before I left and paying for everything at once will be a stretch.
S1 options seem really thin of the ground. Currently its sitting on KU 31's, as far as I'm aware these got replaced with KU39 - black circles seem to have KU 31 in the original sizes though. Are 31's back in production?
The original sizes will give me slightly less overall grip but it's for on road and I'm not too worried about max pace. I want something predictable, decent in the wet and decent feedback. circa 5000 miles a year. The original s1 came on rock hard P-zero's and was still thought of as a revelation!
The other option is hankook rs2's on the larger size or uniroyal rainsport 2's. I could maybe stretch to the toyo r1rs but think advan range would be stretching finances too much with all the other stuff coming off as well- have a wedding to pay for and only been back in work for a wee while.

For normal everyday tyres Craig at MMC had recommend yoko c drives in the original sizes to Smee. Not sure if he had them fitted yet? Otherwise, AD08R are hard to best for the, reasonable, money

Someone has a set of used C-drives in original sizes in the classifieds section on here if you want to go super budget, and you'd consider used tyres.
I ordered a set of AD08R from blackcircles for 393 last week, plus you get some Tesco Clubcard points and a little cashback if you use the website quidco.

Hadn't looked at ad08 , should get 10k out the rears?
I've bought pre worn before and might again as a short term measure, the concern is if tyres might be off due to age plus the fitting costs-£50 a time for the 4. The kumhos on it at moment have tread but rears are 7 years old so cracked and past it.

I've had Hankook R-S2 in the past and hated them! in the wet it was like driving on ice

I'll certainly never pop a set of these on a car again! The Nexen ones that were on the rear of the Experience Limits race car were decent and cheap.. advans on the front and Nexen on the rear and it was understeer city, they seemed pretty grippy out of the box.... Not sure if they could handle track use heat cycles but for a road car I'd consider them, might even pop a set on my Passat

mainly road use Kev or track?
Avons ZZR is epic for track use and I like it for road use also. Its a cut slick though.

Road, inc a big road trip to northern italy in september (hopefully!).
It's going to be either
Ku 31's @£277 fitted or AD08 @ £435 fitted from black circles - couldn't find them on quidco though!
I'll maybe squeeze it through mot and see how much the damage is.

Out of interest, where are peeps buying the Avons? How much (roughly) does a set cost?
TIA
