BT FlickR no long supply image URL
BT FlickR no long supply image URL
Has anyone else been annoyed by Flickr, first of all canceling their pro accounts for BT customers, and now stopping access to image URLs. I used it for all my image hosting but this now makes it useless to me
It also why I stuck with BT - I think they're going to lose a customer

Re: BT FlickR no long supply image URL
Stopping access to image URLs? Not sure I understand that, but if you mean what I think you mean, then ...
I let mine expire by accident one year, and only the last 2GB (or whatever the free limit is) of images still worked. All other stuff was gone/hidden/unavailable somehow. Renewed Pro and it was all back again. Might be worth a try? I've spent a fair while playing with alternatives, and Flickr's still the best out there for photographers in my opinion. There are plenty image hosts, instagram snap type sites for the facebook generation to play with, but nothing serious. 500px isn't bad, and I find it quite browsable for looking at others' photos, but not so great for managing my own.
If you don't want to pay, I can't help. I haven't found anything free that's worth using.

Re: BT FlickR no long supply image URL
you can still get access to the image URL's but its now a PITA multiple click fanny around. I just moved to photobucket, and they give you the URL underneath the picture to copy and paste into forums
Re: BT FlickR no long supply image URL
if you still want to get the URL:
1. click on the photo
2. click on the 3 wee circles/dots on the right hand side (more actions)
3. click download/all sizes (5th option down)
4. click view all sizes
5.click the size of the image you want to link directly to
6.right click and select copy image URL (thats how it works on google chrome, your browser may be different)
On photobucket, i dont even need to select the photo, i can just view my library, so it shows a selection of thumbnails, and underneath each is the image url to copy and paste

Brilliant! Thanks for working that out for me
