The current set have seen better days and one have stopped working so have decided to replace both.
Has anyone bought some recently or can recommend a set?
Thanks
S1 Elise fog lights replacements - any recommendations?
Re: S1 Elise fog lights replacements - any recommendations?
The lights in the grill are actually additional driving lights which come on with the full beam. No suggestion where to buy them other than elise parts, but I would suggest, if you do replace them, get the elise parts protective covers too, they are not expensive, and do a good job of protecting the lights

And you might be delighted to find out that the easiest way to change them is to take off the front clam... They have been replaced on that car before (by my fair hand) and I tried a couple of the wheezes that were about at the time to try to get them out with the clam in situ, but it seems the clam on that car is particularly tight fitting to them, as there was no chance.
The ones in it were the Eliseparts uprated numbers and the covers were on them at one stage (but had a habit of disappearing)

I changed mine no problem on N3 Shug, so it must depend on the fit of the clam, I have no front undertray on so that may have made the difference.

Re: S1 Elise fog lights replacements - any recommendations?
Literally just completed this job, got replacement lights from Elise Shop (much cheaper than Elise Parts as they have sourced them direct from the supplier) and replacement brackets from Elise Parts. The lights also came with much better fitments than the original springs and washers etc.
Fitting them is a PITA as you can't really get near the nylon nuts with any tools, so I ended up fashioning my own tool from thin gauge steel that I bent to the correct shape. And as the lights have 4 lugs attached they don't fit through the front grille. Got the old ones out in the end after bending the hell out of the brackets, but as I was replacing them anyway it wasn't an issue. For fitting the replacements, they are only attached to the brackets with 3 of the lugs, so once checking and double checking which ones were needed, I whipped out the dremmel and neatly lopped off the unused one. From there it fits through the grille no bother at all, and it's just a case of toiling away with screwing them in and actually tightening them up again. All in all it took me about 2 hours, have officially got no skin left on the back of my hands, but the end result is so much better than crappy smashed lights and I felt really satisfied
GIve me a shout if that isn't very clear mate
