S2 elise - smaller rear view mirror

Post by istoo » Sat May 03, 2014 11:53 am

I did a search and found out how to attach another but... what is the besdt solution for replacing the vast standard mirror?
I am 6ft3 and left handers are a nightmare of me moving my head all over the place to try and see. What is the usual replacement?

I found this US link, http://www.sector111.com/parts/interior ... mirror.cfm but no idea if it fits.
and another link on SELOC for daewoo matiz mirror. a rounded one might be better...
but 2/3rs / half the size will really help. visibility for me.

Exactly the same issue for me,about the same height.I'd like half size interior mirror but with a slight curve so you still get a decent view of what's behind, think I saw replacements on one of the Lotus accessory sites.....have to search later and post results.

I've sourced a Daewoo mirror for a local breakers yard, still to fit it to my S2

is this the one? looks like a suction one, ie fall off over every bump...

does it block tuts view of oncoming seagulls?

the micro mirror suits, maybe too small...

Golf mk2 one fits apparently as does the matiz one.

The micro mirror you linked to is available in the UK from Seriously Lotus - http://www.seriouslylotus.com/miscellan ... tor111-rhd
After years of ducking to see round left handers I've just ordered myself one.

I've got the Daewoo matiz mirror on mine - well worth searching for I picked on up in a scrappy for £2
I tried a few other mirrors inc the new Mini which although its a nice shape isnt much smaller than the original Lotus one,

well i went for the cheapskate option, couldnt be arsed heading to the lcoal scrappy as a 60 mile round trip isnt local. so ordered one from ebay, apparently OEM daewo matiz mirror, and it wasnt, autosomething branded and very light/cheap. So took off the original mirror, compared size, about 20% smaller at the most. The daewoo one, light and i mean light manouvring of the ball/socket and the ball snaps into the mirror,oh bollocks. not to worry i will slide on the original back into place... as two bits of plastic fall off into the foot well. so cant drive the feck car now! ARRGGGHHHH sunny day as well rather pissed off. so to save any fruther buggering about just ordered one of the holy crap how much for a small mirror, mirrors...

tut it i £108 for a mirror versus nto seeing 25% of any left hander... i will take the mirror, plus might make my look more attracgtive, fecking better at that price!

As long as you have door mirrors you aren't committing any offence. Just pretend your a taxi driver then you won't realise its gone anyway :thumbsup

Buy my Exige and you will never need to use a rear view mirror again.....unless you want to check to see if the intercooler is still in place.... :D

Should add there is a discount of £750.00 for Se'rs.
