New 2bular Exhaust

Post by renmure » Tue May 20, 2014 9:07 pm

I got Jim at 2bular to make me a non-pc custom exhaust for my Exige.

It is a 6 inch box with what he describes as an "ultra core" pipe of which he says, "You have a unique exhaust design - it's nothing like the std 2bular 6" systems I've sold before - trust me, this one is twice as LOUD as any of the 6" systems I've sold anywhere!"

Obviously this can go horribly wrong and I might hate it or go deaf... but ... it is what I asked for and it looks ace 8)

Hopefully getting it fitted by the end of the week so if anyone is in the market for a fairly unused Stage 3 Exhaust then drop me a PM before it hits eBay.

Love the sound of my 2bular :love. Brilliant sound considering it's created from a wee 1.8 engine, including the occasional pops and bangs it gives on the overrun. Enjoy :thumbsup

I probably should, so I can hear the difference myself.
Jim did say he was pleased how yours turned out and was confident I would be happy :)

I've actually got a new idea for mine, not sure if I'll get Jim to build it this year or wait until next year but I don't think many people would have done what I have in mind.

Don't think Side pipes would work on an Evora  however exhaust each side would look pretty cool. Just make sure you don't go down the Ferrari route of 3 exhaust tips.

Which reminded me I've been meaning to find out why the 458 has 3 tips.... which I've just done. To save anyone the bother of searching, the centre pipe is used from idle to 3k-3.5k (depending on mode). Above that speed, the flappy valves swap to the two outer pipes. So, it's a noise/emissions thing. Boring. I was hoping for a fascinating 8-into-3 header design, but I got EU regulations instead. :(

:damnfunny no side pipes or changes to the external pipes, more to do with the parts you can't see. I'm no exhaust designer but if what I'm thinking could work I think it would be a very cool idea.

Learn something new everyday, also explains why a number of the aftermarket exhausts for the 458 have just 2 pipes doing anything.

Ferrari also make a "Gentleman's" Exhaust option which keep it to 96db for track use where as the standard one has a peak of 104db (Still quiet by my standards  )

Additional fail; it is meant to look like an F40 setup, except without the awesomeness that the centre pipe is for the waste gate.
