I'm looking for a little help. Just in the process of putting the front of the car back together after paint. At the last step putting the front mesh grill on I've hit a snag. The rather over zealous body shop has filled the holes for the retaining points for the front grill.

The ones at the top of the front opening.
Would someone be able to measure the distance from the back edge of the front 'opening' to the centre of one of the locating holes? The left to right doesn't matter as the front grill is located in the bottom holes in the crash structure and fits tightly. I can then redrill the holes accordingly.
Any help appreciated.

Not a bad idea, and moderately better than gaffer tape Campbell! Going to replace standard holes though. Drilling access is a friggin nightmare. Got an old 45 degree extension to try tomorrow before breakfast club.

Shug didn't have them fitted when I bought it and I've only just fitted the front one. Schoolboy error given all the rubbish that keeps flying in

Even with this 90 degree (not 45 obviously

) I was only just able to drill the holes. Note the cut down bit to help with the access. All is right with the front again, and no gaffer tape in sight. UJI was embarrassed for you Campbell.

I actually only used gaffer on a temporary grill solution
However the original needs a healthy coat of paint once more so the cardboard cutout may yet reappear!

Adding weight to that pared-down thoroughbred...

Actually, they came off for a strip and paint at one stage and only made it as far back as sticking them in the boot when I sold to Steve
