Just had the TRD airbox fitted last week and had a wee problem with it whilst out on a wee hoon tonight.I was putting the foot down heading out of Largs tonight when the car suddenly died ,fortunately no one was on my tail.I managed to get it into a lay by for a wee look and found that the induction hose from the airbox had worked loose.I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and wether it would be possible to swap the original hose with a longer silicon one as I think the original is too short, and which company could supply one .Thanks

I think both my brothers have the TRD airbox and neither has had any such issues with their cars.

Hopefully not a fitter related problem. My car was in same day as yours getting a TRD air box too. Not used the car since I drove it home 9 or so days ago.

Same here, fitted 2 weeks ago and so far no issues at all other than now a heavier planted right foot!

Just check the flexi rubber pipe from the airbox has been given a proper nip up and carry a small ratchet set with you just in case, think I was just a bit unfortunate. The car sounds awesome with the box on,never of the gas.

Ive got one of these to fit to my Exige.

I believe you need to take the wheel arch liner off to get into a bolt??
anything else ?

I tackled this tonight - wheel off, wheel liner off to get into it
there are 3 x 13mm bolts
The TRD box holes dont line up with the OEM holes.
Are there different kinds depending on whet year you have ?

Hi who supplied the trd airbox and how much? Thinking of one for my car and noticeable difference? Or just noise?

David

Was dead easy:
1) phoned Craig at MMC and said I wanted a TRD air box fitted
2) dropped off car at MMC
3) paid Craig and collected car in evening.
Easiest job I've done on the car

. Actually I heard it is all a bit tight to remove the original and install this hence got MMC to do this whilst in for a service rather than do myself.

Answer above re supplier. It changes the noise - I hear the supercharger start its whine a lot clearer. Volume wise I couldn't say as I already have a 2bular which tends to dominate.

^^^^^ I did the same.
Even as a tightfisted tightwad, I thought it was fairly cheap to have done and certainly was beyond my mechanical competence (mind you, I own no tools!!)
In retrospect, not sure I would bother doing it again. Can't really hear much of anything over the exhaust and I don't even think the supercharger whine is particularly tuneful anyhow. Craig said it made the induction noise louder... but then... he might have said that anyhow
