~10 hours trying to get Battlefield 1942 server up and running on my home LAN for mate to play on remotely as need a distraction from Medal of Honor Spearhead.
Cracked everything, patched till I cna patch no more. Working in single player with latest patches and no CD etc. Server firing on all cylinders and seeing other people connecting to it from tinternet.
Finally find out that the server validates your pikey client CD key dynamically with Electronic Arts.
I then pop down to Game and £7.5 get me a retail copy of the game along with Command and Conquer Generals and Medal of Honour! Bought 5 copies for the boys to play with so we are all legal!
10 hours or £7.50
