Sticky Buttons

Post by Victor Meldrew » Sun Oct 01, 2006 12:10 pm

Does anyone else have a problem with the buttons sticking for the fog lights and the hazards. The main beam one is fine because it gets used all the time but the rest stick and its a bu%^&r to get them to release again.

Any quick fix?
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

It's cos the mechanism is open and gets full of grit. Either replace regularly, or pop the cover off the dash above them and get busy with a can of compressed air regularly. That said, if they are already sticking, it's probably too late for that.

Other thing is to get new ones, and wrap them in electrical tape, to try and keep the crap out.

Mine are the same. I have replaced two, but now I can not use the sidelight one.

I have a few spares, but the problem is they are mostly different pin contacts, so you can not use a hazard switch for the sides or head.

If you go online to lotus spares they had the switch gear on special offer, only acouple of quid per switch, but as tut says get the right one as they are not interchangable. cheers craig.
