Has anyone ever changed the rear brake pipes on the S1? Mines look borderline for the MOT. They disappear under the inner tray under the fuel tank, so I don't know what they're like for access etc. Are there any surprises awaiting me there?

I can get hold of a tool to bend new one's myself, what's the best material to use for the pipes? My dad says his 50's army LandRover had polished copper ones. Sounds nice :D

I think to do properly you'll need to remove the fuel tank ... though I've never done it.

Cheers,

I believe kunifer is the best material due to corrosion resistance, but is a pita to work with (or at least harder than copper - not that I've ever used either!!) and is more expensive.

I guess you could re-route (not sure where) the pipe and leave the original in place.
