Lights on warning buzzer

I have had one lying in my garage for years. In the space of 6 wks two of our household have managed to leave the lights on in daylight and juice the battery, a long way from home - so it's time to fit it!

But can an inept like me do it myself?

What's involved?...

Is it the Eliseparts buzzer with 3 wires dangling off it? If so, dead easy to DIY. A quick email to Geary asking for the instructions that the kit comes with might be all it takes. I'm sure he'd send a PDF version if you explained that you'd lost them.

Surprised no one has appeared with the obvious answer - buy a s2 Elise, all part of the S2 package :thumbsup

Will be interested to hear how you get on - similarly, I have the buzzer kit lying about in my garage for years.....

These are brilliant for tapping into wires. Not cheap, but a doddle to use, no tools and way better than Scotchlocks.

Forget the wiring diagram... Eliseparts have a "this wire goes here" instruction leaflet for this... I don't have a copy, and couldn't recreate it from memory, but it's like 5 mins and 3 wires and anyone can do it. No auto-electric knowledge or schematics required if you can get hold of that leaflet.

Righto. I will contact them. As a former very regular customer! Think it's their kit actually.

Would this do the job as well?
£4 as opposed to £22, voltage 3-24.

Don't see why not, Tut, wired to the door switch / interior light circuit as per the link Mr Boag posted. A bit loud maybe... 103dB @ 1m.

IIRC, the Eliseparts buzzer sounds when you turn the ignition off, not when you open the door... 3 wires... so that might be switched ignition from the radio, headlight switch live and gnd from somewhere (probably the radio harness too), and a bit of built-in logic to invert the switched ignition... there's probably an easier answer than that. Ach, I can't remember... probably talking p*sh.

Graeme, get back to your Subaru rebuild and leave the sparkage to the properly incompetent :-)
