Toe link hairy moment!

My passenger side toe link just broke on me! It was a bit of a hairy moment and I must now have pants like Shug had a few years ago!
I managed to keep it straight and on the road thankfully.

Good save. Just the potential of this was enough for me to change mine! :-)

The car was in Murrays last week for a new starter and a check over. Craig advised that the toe links were siezing up and would need changed soon so I ordered a pair to be pro active. Gillian has just gotten home and called to say they arrived today. Of all the bad timing!
Hay ho I can fit them tonight as soon as the AA gets me home.
When I called and told the nice lady that my toe link had broken she asked what I was towing :?

Glad to hear you're okay Stephen. All bets on where you'll end up are off when they let go.

My S2 rear toe links worked loose on track at Knockhill. Drove home with the car wandering all over the place.

Just home.
The rear wheels seem to have an element of castor to them so have a slight tendency to run straight. That said mine seemed to have more of a tendency to flap about!

Jeesh, wet pants indeed... Sorry to hi jack this a wee bit but I fitted the elise parts kit and chucked their rivits in favour of 6mm bolts and bonding the brackets to the chassis at the inboard end. Had my car on the dyno and it threw 3 of the universal cv boots apart at 120mph and chucked grease onto the manifold and turbo. As a consequence, I took the shafts back apart to repair and on rebuilding, I can't find the leaflet for the toe link torque settings, I seem to recall differing inboard and outboard torques.
Would anyone have an idea what they are? Help appreciated.. :thumbsup

I had one go on me a couple of years back, fortunately it wasn't my car. However it was on Walshy's Elise and it went on the high speed bend at around 80mph. Big bonus was there was nothing to hit, but amazed at how quickly it snapped out of control and nothing I could do but wait.

No way did I keep it straight, just went straight to the scene of the accident.

Didn't waste any time fitting uprated toe links there after on my own car.

I must have been lucky having it go on a straight.

Does anyone know if the rear toe links on the S3 are the same as the S2?

I'd be amazed if they weren't.

Just ordered a setup from Ollie at Phoenix Motorsport. Same as I had on my last car. Recommend them, not worth chancing it with toelinks.

Are these for an S2? How much is the kit?
