Nankang ns-2r

Hey all,

I'm thinking about new rubber and while I don't like scrimping on tyres I'll also pay less if I can!

With that in mind I was wondering if anyone tried the Nankang NS-2R's on their Elise?

They are getting great write ups and represent a decent saving over the similar Yokos. I understand they are very stiff and as noisy as 888's on the road but I'd be interested to hear any feedback - esp. their wet weather capabilities.

Cheers :)

Not quite the same but have Nankang NS2 on the rear of a Mercedes, its very scary to drive in the wet!

If you're after a cheaper alternative to Yoko's or R888's, see if you can get the Federal 595 RS-R in your sizes. Well proven tyre that also works well on the road (for an R-rated tyre).

Normal Nankang's are sh*te, and I doubt many will have experience of the 'R' spec version (even though its completely different..)

The ns2 and ns2r are completely different tyres and shouldn't be compared.

The ns2r is good on an mx5 and seems to have great grip in the wet.
Not sure about an Elise though.
