s1 cat to borrow?

Post by jimbo » Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:31 pm

Car failed MOT today, emissions :( . Craig at Murray's advised that they don't have the cat anymore they used to put on to get people through the test. Has anyone in the Edinburgh area got one I could perhaps borrow? It would save me having to fork out circa £300 on a sports cat. Beer tokens would surely follow :thumbsup

Mine is on the car I'm afraid, James. By the time you fund the Techs to remove and refit, you've almost bought one I imagine!

Anything on eBay or breakers? Is it shared with MGF etc?

Hi Campbell,

Can only see de cat pipes on ebay etc. I can order up the sports one from EP if really needed, I just didn't want to have to fork out the extra money if at all avoidable

Not sure about it being shared with the mgf, I'll go see if I can find out

Cheers

There are normally a couple hanging around that we can share.

Mind you I had two but lord knows where they are now.

Yeah that's what I was hoping Tut but so far no dice. I have someone checking if Overton have one from an mgf tomorrow, but failing all I might take a punt on one from ebay (thanks vet111s) as you say it's just for the MOT so really don't want to spend money for almost nothing

I lent one to Murrays for AndyG's race car about a month ago, I left it with Brandon as Craig had just gone on holiday.
That may still be on the car and not available, but if you search for the thread there were a couple of others offered at the time.
cheers

Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative - 'Aye right.'

Good lad. Wrap it up safe once your are done with it. Or just leave it on. Lessens the hydrocarbon reek!

I have over you can borrow. Live in lesmahagow and work in Stepps. Gillian works in Sky Livingston. If that helps.

It was deliberately very cheap! So if it works (fingers crossed) then might just leave it with Craig for next year, and anybody else with the same issue
