Evora - vibration at idle...

Over the last couple of days I've noticed a pulsing vibration when the car is sitting at idle, it seems to disappear sometimes when the car is cold but sometimes it is there even when warm. It's like a gentle pulse that I can feel through the seat. I'll be getting in touch with Craig about it anyway but just thought I'd get some thoughts on it.

I don't think it would be an engine mount otherwise it would be there all the time - correct?

Have you switched the backrest massage option on by mistake?

Seriously, if it's an engine mount getting tired, it could just be doing it at some resonant frequencies and temp combinations, so not necessarily a bad shout. Take it the idle feels no different? Couldn't be a coil getting weak and missing a little at idle, causing the vibration? You're not that clear on if it's happening cold, warm, or randomly?

Deffo one for Monty to check out, TBH.

It definitely happens more frequently when the engine is cold but the scenarios are as follows:

1. First cold start of the day
2. Pulsing sensation
3. Drive to work (8 miles)
4. Parked at idle no pulsing sensation

1. First cold start of the day
2. Pulsing sensation
3. Drive to work (8 miles)
4. Pulsing sensation still there

1. Start car
2. Pulsing sensation
3. Drive
4. Pulsing sensation still there

1. Start car
2. No pulsing sensation

The other thing I didn't mention on 1 or 2 occasions the car has sort of hiccuped on application of the throttle when on the morning run to work, all occasions in the first 5 minutes and usual when applying the throttle again having slowed down just from lifting off the throttle.

Is it not just the vibration from your exhaust?

Steve.

In all seriousness, It may well be the exhaust vibrating on something or an exhaust mount.

I'm doubting it is the exhaust but I wouldn't rule anything out. It definitely seems like it is caused by the engine though, if it was an exhaust mount it would just rattle all the time, and there isn't any rattling.

The only thing I'll add is the occasional hiccup does make me think weak-ish coil starting to dislike the cold weather and causing an intermittent slight miss. Not sure how twitchy the MIL is on the Evora - might not register if it's very subtle.
