Wiper Mechanism

Hey folks,
Was on my way home from work tonight in the K series S2. Was only travelling from Dyce to city centre. Hut a pot hole just outside BP then all of a sudden my wiper stopped working. I tried moving the wiper to a different speed but nothing. Put my hand out the window and managed to get the blade back to its normal position. As it was nose to tail traffic I could still see, half a mile down Stoneywood road I was struggling to see and decided it was too dangerous to continue. I pulled over to let the traffic pass me before I got of the main road. Once of the road I removed the drivers side inspection panel and noticed the mechanism for the window wiper was in pieces. The motor is still working and I think I have all the parts. I managed to get the car back to my work before the missus picked me up. I will have another look tomorrow in daylight to see if I can get it back together using what I have available.
Has anyone experienced this before?
would this require a clam of job to rectify?
Thanks
Danny
