Air Con

The Air Con on my 07 Elise seems to have packed in. It only really gets used for demisting the windscreen, so quite handy to have at this time of year.
I've checked the fuses, including the one in the passenger footwell and they are all fine.
The blue light on the air con switch comes on when pressed, but there is no change in idling revs (normally you can hear a slight decrease in revs). The fan and heater still work, but it takes an age to clear the windscreen now.
IIRC, it got an aircon service about 10 months ago. Not sure if this is relevant.
Any suggestions?

Get a nice chamois pad and keep it in the car

Oh how I love the SE banter
Roof off - not when it's pishing down driving through Edinburgh in the dark in the middle of winter.
Already got a microfibre cloth which does the job. It's just a PITA and leaves smeers.
Roll on the summer. Can't be long now the days are getting longer

I know that on my car the air-con works thru' the ECU so probably the same on yours.......I can loan you an OBD2 reader to check for fault codes although that might be a long shot.........but free!!......saying that I'm sure MMC won't be hard to deal with for "fault" diagnosis.

Sounds like loss of aircon pressure which stops the compressor running.
Has your car had the aircon sill pipes replaced? The original items eventually corrode & leak, quite common on that vintage Elise & Exige.
Costs ~£800 to replace the pipes with the new version.

Definitely no use taking technical advice from me but until you get it sorted this may help?

Due a service soon, so I'll get MMC to take a look.
£800

- I can live without AC at that price.
The heater/fan still work fine, so not a big major inconvenience.

The only potential issue with not getting it fixed is that the aircon gas contains a lubricant for the compressor.
If the aircon isn't working then eventually the compressor could seize which will cost even more to fix in the future.
That's what Craig will tell you anyway!

On my 2004 S2 Exige, the heater only blasts out hot air, it doesnt cool.
Air con doesnt work either. (but blue light comes on)
