Modifying stock seat to take harnesses

As above, i have been hunting initially for new seats for the elise to take the harnesses as the splay of the harnesses at the top is wide, moreso with load. So i was dreaming up ways of keeping them together, stitching back sections together, stoppers on the harness bar all felt a bit too crude. But then i stumbled on a thread with folk retrofitting grommet holes to probax seats. Seems like a cheap fix, i am not a racer, not do i intend to be, i understand the seat is design to have holes or not so the slot so to speak doesnt detract from the seat strength.

MSAR make these;

edit - these from more research seem to be the preferred choice, sector111 leave instructions for installation as well.

and Corbeau make these

question is, has anyone ever done it? And whats the thoughts? Yes i know buying a replacement seat is best but I dont see a lot wrong with it, strength of the set being first consideration, but it can only be safer.

Pics of those who have done it;

Patience i have, and a mate who is an upholsterer if i happen to feck it up.

The Corbeau Grommet B is identical to the MSAR/Sector 111 grommets and considerably cheaper.

I have done it to two pairs of seats, isn't too bad a job. I bought msar ones and then next set direct from corbeau. It's a case of putting grommet on back of seat and then cutting and filing out seat back until it fits, then is the scary bit of cutting the leathe, make a slit in middle of hole and the carefully cut out slot. Have fun, worth it in end, took me about 3-4 hours for a pair

I've done this mod and love it. Can be annoying during everyday use but for blasts and trackways it works well. On my phone so having trouble using the search but you should be able to find my thread of questions and moderate research, and I think there are pics somewhere of the finished article.
