Modifying stock seat to take harnesses
Posted: Sun Feb 15, 2015 5:09 pm
As above, i have been hunting initially for new seats for the elise to take the harnesses as the splay of the harnesses at the top is wide, moreso with load. So i was dreaming up ways of keeping them together, stitching back sections together, stoppers on the harness bar all felt a bit too crude. But then i stumbled on a thread with folk retrofitting grommet holes to probax seats. Seems like a cheap fix, i am not a racer, not do i intend to be, i understand the seat is design to have holes or not so the slot so to speak doesnt detract from the seat strength.

edit - these from more research seem to be the preferred choice, sector111 leave instructions for installation as well.
and Corbeau make these

question is, has anyone ever done it? And whats the thoughts? Yes i know buying a replacement seat is best but I dont see a lot wrong with it, strength of the set being first consideration, but it can only be safer.
